Sometimes I come across an opinion: software engineers don’t need to have good soft skills or fluent English.

These days this comes more often from engineers looking for job interviews in international companies rather than from entrepreneurs looking to grow their team.

☺️ But my observations do not allow me to side with that opinion.

In the era when the coding part of product growth becomes more and more accessible, teams are looking to hire people who are comfortable to communicate with. Hence the notorious “culture fit,” behavioural questions, and… English fluency, for those non-natives among us :)

Being a tech star is no longer enough. This is the time when being a human starts paying off, and verbal fluency is a huge part of it.

Wish all of you great people to talk to, at work and after work!
