🇹🇷 Turkey just seized 80 cars and 12 properties in a $3 BILLION scam takedown

The network ran out of Istanbul and Muğla through companies dressed up as call centers, consulting firms and tourism businesses.

Ads on social media and search engines promised big returns on forex and crypto. Multilingual staff called you, a fake platform showed your money growing, and every withdrawal attempt hit one more required payment - a tax, a frozen account, a fee. The money went out to overseas bank accounts and crypto wallets..

201 people detained so far out of 248 suspects, across 42 call centers and 28 companies. Assets worth around $31M seized or frozen 🧊

The Turkish offices moved about $266M. But they were one piece of something much bigger - an operation investigators call "Scam Empire", blamed for over $3 billion taken worldwide 🌍

🗣🇰🇵 North Korean hackers infected 30,000 devices by pretending to be recruiters

Between December 2025 and July 2026 it hit devices in 100+ countries and stole credentials from over 7,000 crypto wallets.

The method: fake job ads from fake AI, crypto and NFT companies. Applicants got sent a coding assignment, ran the package, and that was it. Malware in, wallet keys and seed phrases out 🎣

Wallets they control took in at least $10.71M, and the agencies say the money goes straight into the North Korean state treasury.

Japan also shut down its first known "laptop farm" - a local helper's home full of machines so North Korean workers could look like they were sitting in Japan 💻

The hacker wants Revolut to pay $3 million USD in XMR, an anonymous cryptocurrency. If the ransom is not paid, the hacker says the data will be sold and that "the blood" will be on Revolut's hands.

⚡️ Hundreds of contractors are getting paid $50/hour to read real ChatGPT conversations

Internal documents call it "Project Lily." Reviewers read whole conversations between users and the bot, then rate the replies on a 1-to-7 scale 💀

They don't see usernames, and a filter model is supposed to strip out personal details first, but OpenAI's own documentation admits it misses things. Some tasks also come with a "user memories summary" attached, which can show what you've used the bot for before and roughly where you live 📍

This only applies if "improve the model for everyone" is on. It's on by default. Turning it off only covers new chats, not old ones ⚙️

Anthropic confirmed it does human review too, for accounts with the equivalent setting enabled.

– They claim Revolut handed personal data to countries outside its jurisdiction

– And accuse the company of negligence with customers' private information 📂

All of which they're arguing while publishing that exact information themselves..

Revolut hasn't said anything about the demand yet.

🔆 A ChatGPT flaw let attackers read your Gmail through your own account

Check Point found that ChatGPT sessions belonging to different users could secretly talk to each other through an internal service.

The attacker drops a hidden instruction into a shared conversation, a custom GPT, or a prompt the victim pastes in. From then on, the victim's own session quietly runs the attacker's task in the background - pulling from Gmail, Drive, Teams, GitHub, whatever they'd connected 📂

The victim sees a completely normal answer on screen. The stolen data never appears in the chat. It gets written back through the hidden channel for the attacker to pick up.

OpenAI shut down the internal service behind it, so this specific path is closed.

⚠️ UPDATE: Blockstream refuses to pay a bounty for the $47M still missing from Liquid

Hackers drained nearly 4,000 BTC (~$320M) from the Liquid Network, then returned 3,400 BTC - about 85% 💀

They're still holding 598.5 BTC (~$47M) and want a bounty for it.

Blockstream's answer: "Bitcoin doesn't haircut users to pay a ransom." If the coins don't come back, they're tracing them with law enforcement, exchanges and forensics teams 🔍

🚨 BREAKING: Sam Bankman-Fried is taking his fraud case to the US Supreme Court

He filed the petition today - a last-ditch shot at overturning his 25-year sentence and the $11 BILLION forfeiture order 💀

His argument: the trial judge wouldn't let him show that FTX's assets could have covered customer losses. He also says $11B is an unconstitutionally excessive fine.

A federal appeals court already threw all of this out in June, unanimously, calling the evidence against him "conservatively stated, robust."

He has a presidential pardon request pending too, though senators have filed a resolution against any clemency 🫠

The Supreme Court takes about 1% of the petitions it gets.

Trezor now says its third-party email provider was breached, and hackers used access tied to its legitimate domain to send phishing emails to customers.

One of those emails warned users about a fake “STM32 Entropy Vulnerability” and pushed them toward a phishing link.

Trezor says the email was not legitimate, the domain has been taken down, and it is investigating how attackers gained access.

Well, I have to give it to them — insanely brilliant work by the hackers.

🚨 A family was murdered in Mexico over a hardware wallet

Jonathan Meléndez, keyboardist of the band Camilo Séptimo, his pregnant wife, their 3-year-old daughter and their housemaid were killed in their apartment near Mexico City.

Their 6-year-old son survived.
The suspects were after a cold wallet they believed held $1.5M in Bitcoin.

One of them was a business associate of Meléndez, that's how he got through the door 🔑
Two arrests within 12 hours. They face up to 70 years per victim.

🏥 A company that existed for 5 months billed Medicare $1.3 BILLION

ND Medical Solutions was a medical equipment company in Pennsylvania. On paper, Erekle Gugava owned it - from February to July 2025 💀

In those five months it sent Medicare and private insurers $1.3 billion in claims for equipment nobody ever received.

The real operation was run from Russia. Gugava's job was the money: he opened the bank accounts, was the only signature on them, took in the insurance checks and pushed the money overseas 💸

Insurers paid out about $6.5 million before anyone noticed anything was wrong.

He faces 20 years if they ever get him.

They indicted a man who left the country a year ago 🫠

Just now they've returned 3400 BTC and kept 600 BTC ($47M) as a 'bug bounty'. They've also 'responsibly' disclosed the vulnerability in a PGP-encrypted message.
