For many years, Yemen was subjected to a naval and aerial blockade, depriving millions of Yemenis of the freedom to travel. Patients and wounded faced great difficulties in accessing medical treatment abroad, while travelers endured harsh conditions and exorbitant costs.

Today, with Saudi airports now at risk and air traffic disrupted, we can begin to grasp part of the suffering Yemenis endured for years—when for many, travel wasn’t just a journey, but a path fraught with obstacles and dangers.
