— So, are we simply expected to accept being killed, watch our children get bombed and decomposed beneath the rubble, and live knowing that any strike could take our lives at any moment? Yet when we strike back, the outcry begins.
We are constantly told to show restraint and avoid civilian casualties, and rightly so. But where is the same concern when children, women, the elderly, the sick, pregnant women, and people with disabilities are killed in attacks against us? The principle of protecting civilians must apply equally to everyone, not selectively according to whose lives are lost.
Iran needs to understand that political restraint cannot mean allowing its people to remain indefinitely exposed to attacks without an effective response.
It must learn from the consequences of its approach and reassess whether its current strategy is achieving its intended objectives. The lives of our people matter just as much as anyone else’s, and their protection must be a priority.
