🇮🇳 ❓| For the past 12 years, India has witnessed an increasing concentration of power under the Modi-Amit Shah leadership, accompanied by significant damage to institutional independence and democratic checks. This political structure is closely connected to powerful business interests, particularly the Adani and Ambani families, whose close ties to the political establishment and Tel Aviv raise important questions about the intersection of domestic power, corporate influence, and foreign policy.
The current political landscape in India is complex and cannot be understood through a single narrative. Over the years, American and Israeli lobbies have not only helped Modi remain in power but have also strengthened his global networks, cultivated his personal image, and promoted his Hologram leadership internationally. However, America has its own strategic interests and has also been involved in affairs that run counter to Modi’s interests. This raises an important question: why would Washington support Modi’s leadership while simultaneously pursuing policies that may undermine his political interests?
The answer lies in the nature of geopolitics. No country can indefinitely compromise its national identity and strategic autonomy without consequences. India seeks to maintain relations with Israel, Russia, America, Iran, China, and numerous other countries, each with competing interests. New Delhi believes it can manage these relationships while preserving its strategic flexibility. However, this balancing act is not necessarily something to applaud. It increasingly resembles hypocrisy in the name of national interest. Short-term political and economic benefits may serve the nexus controlling the country’s political direction, but they do not necessarily benefit the nation as a whole.
Another development demanding serious scrutiny is the emergence of Abhijeet Dipke who leads Cockroach party, who returned after completing his education in the United States and subsequently helped launch powerful Gen Z protests demanding the removal of corrupt education minister from the central government. He has now mobilised millions behind him, while established politicians from traditional political families have also found it advantageous to stand alongside the movement. However, we must not assume that this political camp is entirely free of questionable interests. Numerous factors suggest that political manoeuvring may be taking place on both sides, with external powers seeking to influence competing factions. America may be pursuing multiple channels of influence simultaneously, invoking the language of democracy when it serves its strategic objectives and applying pressure when the Modi nexus becomes too centralised or less beneficial to American interests.
The central question is whether Modi’s increasingly centralised political establishment still serves Washington’s strategic priorities to the same extent as before. American interests do not necessarily require unconditional loyalty to a single political leadership. When a government begins pursuing its own agenda in ways that conflict with American priorities, Washington may seek alternative channels of influence. This possibility makes it essential to examine the political developments in India beyond the surface-level narratives of democracy, reform, and national interest.
Ultimately, time will expose the competing interests behind these developments. Protests are currently taking place in New Delhi against large-scale electoral fraud allegedly committed through the Election Commission of India under pressure from Modi’s government. The Gen Z mobilisation has reached a level that could develop into a major political crisis and potentially threaten the government’s stability if the movement continues to grow and political support begins to fracture.
