Colonel Sadeq Sharaf Muhammad Abduh, head of operations of the 35th Armored Brigade and commander of the Al-Aqrud Front affiliated with the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), was reportedly killed during the fighting. Other reported casualties include Ibrahim Al-Maqarmi of the Popular Resistance in Al-Shamayteen, Yaqoub Al-Ghalibi Al-Subaihi of the 31st Support Giants Brigade in Al-Madharibah, Ahmed Ja’bal, commander of the so-called 14th Support Giants Brigade in Al-Wazi’iyah, and Marwan Al-Subaihi, a platoon commander in Al-Hadd Yafa’. Yemeni forces also reportedly seized control of Al-Salw district and captured Jamil Aqlan, described as the commander of the Special Security Forces in Taiz, along with several commanders affiliated with the 35th Armored Brigade. Taha Aoun, commander of the brigade’s Sixth Battalion, reportedly sustained serious injuries in Jabal Matran, while the position of Ashraf Hadi, chief of staff of the Fourth Battalion of the First Brigade of the so-called Homeland Shield Forces, was reportedly affected in Al-Misrakh. In a further development, Yemeni forces reportedly arrested Ahmad Hazaa Al-Sunawi, the director general of Al-Ma’afir District, following the reported liberation of the district. Taken together, the reported deaths, injuries, captures, and loss of positions among Saudi-backed forces point to the intensity of the recent fighting and the pressure facing these formations across the Taiz and Lahj fronts.
