Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi held a telephone conversation on regional and international developments and bilateral relations.

Motegi said Japan continued to work for an early reduction of tensions, stabilization of the situation, and a diplomatic solution, and expressed Tokyo’s willingness to accelerate diplomacy in cooperation with relevant countries. Araghchi explained Iran’s position regarding the current negotiations with america and the regional situation. In a later account of the call, Araghchi said continued insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf was solely the result of america’s aggressive and interventionist actions and argued that security could return only through an end to america’s unlawful activities. He also stressed Iran’s determination to defend its interests.

A formal document titled the “Programme of Cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran for 2027–2028” was signed in Kazan on the sidelines of a meeting of prosecutors general of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations rejected reports that the Iranian delegation had been expelled from america. The mission said Iranian representatives had left New York according to a pre-arranged schedule and called reports of an expulsion “baseless and worthless.” It added that the US State Department, which it said had achieved nothing, had resorted to spreading such reports.

Iran’s acting Defence Minister Brigadier General Majid Ibn al-Reza said claims that Iran’s defence industries had been destroyed would not change anything and stated: “You will see Iran’s power and initiative on the battlefield, and you will taste its political impact.” He also accused the White House of concealing internal confusion through “war plays,” citing public pressure, military exhaustion, and rising costs.

According to a US official cited by Al Jazeera, the USS Theodore Roosevelt and its strike group departed San Diego for the Middle East, with the carrier expected to replace the USS George Washington. More than 2,000 Marines are also heading to the Middle East aboard an amphibious ready group. The same report said that by the end of November, three aircraft carriers and two amphibious ready groups would be deployed in the vicinity of Iran.

China’s security forces reportedly fired warning shots after Myanmar junta aircraft were seen circling over the headquarters of the Kachin Independence Army in Laiza near the Chinese border. The report noted that the Myanmar aircraft did not violate Chinese airspace.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia

Saudi opposition media claimed that 538 Saudi companies had either effectively gone bankrupt or entered bankruptcy proceedings between January 1 and September 30, 2026.
