🇾🇪 Yemen
Ansar Allah forces captured Dhiab, Jabal Al-Mansoura, Jabal Al-Barha, Jabal Lasbah, and Jabal Hawab in Lahij Governorate in the direction of the Gulf of Aden. Ansar Allah forces also advanced on the northern front of Al-Mudharabah in Lahij Governorate. For around eight hours, clashes and attacks by Ansar Allah forces continued around the outskirts of Taiz from the northern, eastern, and western directions. Clashes later subsided temporarily, but pressure on Taiz continued to increase, particularly amid the risk of encirclement. Other reports said clashes continued on several fronts, with Ansar Allah forces attacking Saudi-backed forces in the Han area and targeting gatherings and reinforcements of Saudi-backed forces with mortar shells in Sam’ District.
Heavy fighting was reported across northern Taiz and Jabal Habashi, with simultaneous clashes on several fronts. Fighting was reported in Al-Aqroub, Al-Shaqb, Sam’, the western and eastern outskirts of Taiz, Hifan, Ahqum, Al-Mafalis, Al-Ashbuth, Bani Umar, Al-Damdam, and Jabal Habashi. Yemeni forces launched their widest offensive since the western coast offensive against positions of Saudi-backed forces in Taiz, amid advances and the capture of important strategic areas. The supply route connecting Lahij and Taiz for Saudi-backed forces was reportedly cut after a bridge was destroyed. Arab and field sources later reported that Taiz had become completely surrounded and under siege by Ansar Allah forces, while other reports said several Saudi-backed brigades and commanders fled their positions at Haijat Al-Abd and Sam’ toward Aden after the fall of those positions.
Reports also said a large number of Saudi-backed forces were killed and wounded after their units were caught in an Ansar Allah pincer on the Saada front, with field ambulances transporting dozens of wounded survivors to hospitals. Fighting in the area was continuing. Saudi Arabia acknowledged that Yemeni armed forces directly targeted the Al-Tayba power station, putting several transformers out of service. Ansar Allah political bureau member Dhaifallah Al-Shami rejected Saudi accusations concerning the targeting of the power station in Medina, saying that Saudi Arabia had previously attempted to accuse Yemen of targeting Mecca and was now making a new accusation concerning Medina. Saudi aviation also carried out two airstrikes on a building in Al-Barh in Maqbanah District, Taiz, and three airstrikes on Sahar District in Saada.
🇮🇷 Iran
Iranian security forces launched an operation against elements of a terrorist group in Zahedan after identifying the group’s hideout in the Manzelab area. The operation was aimed at clearing the location and confronting the terrorist elements, with further details to be announced after information was obtained and confirmed by the relevant authorities. The Public Relations office of the IRGC Quds Headquarters later said that a strong blow had been delivered to a terrorist cell in Zahedan that intended to carry out terrorist operations. The IRGC Ground Force Quds Base subsequently announced that six members of a Takfiri terrorist group had been killed and several explosive packages had been seized. Earlier reports said armed clashes between law enforcement forces and an unidentified armed group, described as terrorists or smugglers, were still ongoing.
During Police Week, Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Taeb, head of the Basij Mostazafan Organization, issued a message honoring the efforts of Iran’s Law Enforcement Command and security personnel. He said Iranian law enforcement forces had played an effective role in strengthening the country’s security, particularly along the borders, and called for vigilance, cooperation between institutions and society, and support for security personnel.
