🏴‍☠️ | US-led military operation shifts headquarters to Jordan after Iraq withdrawal:

The US-led Operation Inherent Resolve has shifted its headquarters to Jordan following the completion of the coalition's military withdrawal from Iraq, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said today.

CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper said US and coalition forces stationed across the region would remain prepared to respond to "ISIS threats" after Iraq assumed primary responsibility for its security.

"As we step back and hand full primary responsibility for Iraq's security to the government of Iraq and the brave people of Iraq, US and coalition forces stationed across the region will remain ready to respond to any ISIS threats that arise," Cooper said.

The US withdrawal from Iraq was completed on 30 September, formally ending the coalition's military mission in the country while its broader anti-ISIS operations continue from Jordan and Syria.
