🇮🇷 | Breaking: IRGC says another U.S. MQ-1 drone shot down over the Strait of Hormuz

Moments ago, another MQ-1 drone belonging to the U.S. military was reportedly intercepted and destroyed over the Strait of Hormuz by the IRGC’s newly deployed advanced aerospace defense system operating under Iran’s integrated air defense network.

According to Iranian sources, the MQ-1, widely known as the “Butcher of Kandahar” for its extensive operational history in Afghanistan, accumulated more than 20,000 flight hours before being retired from U.S. Navy and Air Force combat service several years ago and replaced by the MQ-9 Reaper.

The statement further said that, following the reported destruction of a significant number of MQ-9 drones, the United States has been forced to return the MQ-1 to operational use. Iranian sources added that both drone types are now being extensively targeted by the IRGC’s new air defense system.
