🚨 Did Fauci Lose His Right to Plead the Fifth?
A growing legal debate is emerging after Dr. Anthony Fauci delivered an opening statement before invoking the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times during his Senate testimony.
Sen. Josh Hawley argued that by voluntarily making an opening statement, Fauci may have waived his Fifth Amendment privilege before refusing to answer questions.
Mary Holland, President and CEO of Children's Health Defense, pointed to the Supreme Court's 1896 decision in Brown v. Walker, while noting the precedent would need to be examined in light of more recent case law.
"You can't both waive the privilege and then assert the privilege."
