Miners are changing professions: how Bitcoin farms are turning into AI factories ⚡️🤖
📊 While the market is watching the Bitcoin rate, a much more fundamental shift is unfolding in the shadows — the largest mining companies are shifting en masse into AI infrastructure operators 🏭➡️🧠
❓ What's happening 👇
💸 Money goes where it’s more profitable. Miners are accelerating the reallocation of part of their power sites and infrastructure into data centers for AI against the backdrop of deteriorating Bitcoin mining economics 💸
⚡️ The asset is now electricity, not ASICs. The key asset in the new model is not the mining hardware, but access to electricity, substations, cooling systems, permits, and ready-made sites 🔌🏗
📑 The scale of the contracts is impressive. Public miners have already announced AI and high-performance computing (HPC) contracts worth more than $70 billion 💰
🟢 The market appreciated it. Companies with such agreements are valued significantly higher by the market — their revenue multiple stands at 12.3 compared to 5.9 for miners focused solely on Bitcoin 📈
🔮 The stakes for the future are high. Analysts expect that the share of the AI segment in public miners' revenue could grow to about 70% by the end of 2026 — compared to around 30% in the first quarter of the year 🚀
What about Bitcoin itself? 🤔
Not everything is smooth sailing — the network hashrate dropped by 28% from October 2025 to January 2026, falling from 1.15 Zh/s to 0.83 Zh/s, though it began to recover by August 2026 📉📈.
And the transition isn't free: in the first half of 2026, 15 mining and data center companies spent $30.7 billion on capital expenditures — up 42.6% from the previous year, with spending currently outstripping AI revenues by about 15 times ⚖️
