In Rome, the haplogroup G-M377 Edomites dressed as Praetorians. They were the Vatican in the Cathar genocide of the French, and Normans in 1066. As well as Jacobins/Enrages in the French 'Revolution' and Russian Bolsheviks. So Iran was similar, but not the first by any stretch.
