A wave of Instagram suspensions and username bans appears to be affecting accounts both inside and outside the community.
At the moment, it’s unclear whether this is due to abuse of a known exploit or an enforcement wave from Instagram itself.
To reduce the risk to your account:
1. Temporarily deactivate your Instagram account
2. Make sure your account has a real photo of yourself on it (an archived post works too)
3. If your account gets suspended / “numlocked,” avoid submitting an appeal yourself — feel free to contact me directly first
4. Account Center -> Security -> Verification Selfie, complete this
