We believe that the most valuable aspect you can derive from participating in our meetings is practice (remember this is a SPEAKING club, right?)🎤. This is why while you talk it's better to strive to voice as much information as you possibly can. However, diligent learners also aspire to speak grammatically correct...🤓

Here's a small list of mistakes to avoid that will help you sound more confident and fluent (+some written English) ⬇️

- I may/must/shall/can/would... to pass my exams —> I may/must/shall/can/would... pass my exams
why: modal verbs are followed by the bare infinitive (the base form of the verb without "to") except ought to.

- Your a great friend —> You are ('re) a great friend
why: nothing drives grammar lovers crazier than confusing your and you're. You're is simply a shortcut for "you are", while your shows that something belongs to you (possessive pronouns).

- what "acquiescence" means? —> what does "acquiescence" mean
why: use "What does it mean?" when asking a direct question—it requires the auxiliary verb "does." Use "what it means" in indirect questions or statements, like "I don't know what it means," where the word order stays normal. If you are asking someone a question directly, always go with "What does it mean?"

- I very like —> I like
why: the word "very" cannot go before a verb; you need an adverb like "really" instead. Say "I really like it" or "I like it very much" to sound natural.
