Trump also recalled why he bought a Tesla back in March 2025 — and under what terms.
“Everyone was asking me, ‘Oh, did you get a bargain?’ No. I said, ‘Give me the top price.’ I paid a lot of money for that car,” he said.
Bloomberg previously reported that Musk was seen as a “major beneficiary” of Trump’s return to the White House, with some even calling him a “shadow president” after the election.
Trump has repeatedly praised Musk, calling him a “special guy,” a “super genius,” and a “new star,” and publicly backed Tesla during protests over the billionaire’s political stance.
