Telegram has introduced Telegram Gateway, offering businesses a highly affordable phone number verification service at just $0.01 per code globally.
In a blog post, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov → states that this service is “cheaper, faster, and more secure than traditional SMS verification.” He emphasizes:
Businesses can save millions by sending verification codes to their users right through Telegram.
Pavel Durov highlightes that Telegram has already verified nearly a billion users and aims to reduce costs for businesses:
We’ve made this investment so that others won’t have to.
If a phone number isn’t linked to a Telegram account, he adds, “we won’t charge at all.”
While Telegram doesn’t expect the service to be a major revenue source, Pavel Durov expresses hope that
this initiative will make the world more efficient, reducing costs and prices for many services worldwide.
