French President Emmanuel Macron → spoke out for the first time about the detention of Pavel Durov. According to him, he read false information about France after the arrest of the head of Telegram:
Under the rule of law, on social networks, as in real life, freedoms are exercised within the framework established by law to protect citizens and respect their fundamental rights.
Macron emphasized that Durov's arrest occurred as part of an ongoing legal investigation:
This is by no means a political decision. The decision remains with the judges.
