Jenny McCarthy claims that when she investigated her son Evan's body, he was "filled with heavy metals," and that there is "tons of aluminum" in shots, with mercury still present in some of them.

Alex Clark notes that mercury was removed from the flu shot. McCarthy responds that aluminum "does just as bad damage," and that these ingredients are "still in there" and "still causing damage" because "they never did the proper safety testing."

McCarthy further claims that the CDC previously said there was no correlation between vaccines and autism, but that "now they had to eat their own words", claiming the CDC now admits "we never did the research to prove that."

She also claims that childhood vaccines were never tested against a true saline placebo, only against other aluminum-containing vaccines, because giving children a placebo was deemed "not ethical." In her words: "We never got a true study."

Regardless of where you stand on the vaccine debate, rigorous safety testing is a must - we're giving these vaccines to healthy babies and children. Not to mention, the fastest way to shut "anti-vaxxers down" is to do the safety studies and prove vaccines are safe. In this case, it's better to do more tests than less.
