Droidspaces v6.6.0 has been released! 🎉

- feat: --allow-sandboxing for running unprivileged Docker, Podman and Flatpak/bwrap inside containers
- feat(journald): inspect per-unit journal logs from the init service list; journal logs screen moved onto the shared components and opens at the tail without a visible jump
- feat(net): accept split-tunnel VPN routing tables as a pinned upstream
- mount: hw-access mode now exposes the raw devtmpfs; device blocklist and the unfiltered-dev privileged toggle removed, staged /dev binds and --allow-vts documented
- fix(security): refuse bind mounting the host root into a container; folder picker greys out confirm at host root
- fix: remove the Deadlock Shield entirely (runtime, app toggle and docs); drop the privileged mode security warning banner
- fix: CLI now defaults to --net=nat
- fix: peer guard no longer denies every client on kernels without PID namespaces; no more SIGPIPE death when the daemon rejects before the request is sent
- fix(app): init service list keeps its state across child screens, card reflow animates when a container leaves the list, container user cache evicted on uninstall
- app: environment variables edited as a plain text file, Artix distro icon, post_extract_fixes.sh brought in line with the rootfs builder

Plus the usual round of translation updates, UI polish, and under-the-hood refactoring.

I self-hosted Docmost inside a Droidspaces container and shared it with my friend via Tailscale so we can manage notes related to our projects on our own server!

I got an ice cream because I scored 300/300 in the final HackerRank exam and became rank #1 :)

For those wondering how to use the Droidspaces x VirtualAP setup, it's easier than you think.

1. Make sure your kernel has Droidspaces support, and that Droidspaces is installed and running in Daemon mode.

2. Open Droidspaces, go to the rootfs repo, and install the OpenWRT container with the networking mode selected as "NAT," then start it.

3. Install VirtualAP, grant it root access, and open it; it will start to install the backend.

4. Once you land on the VirtualAP homepage, fill in your hotspot name and password properly.

5. If the OpenWRT container in Droidspaces is really running, you'll see two tabs called "Interface" and "Managed" in the middle of the VirtualAP app.

6. Tap "Managed," select the OpenWRT container, scroll to the bottom, and start the hotspot!

That's it! No extra configuration is needed via typing scary commands or configuring everything using LuCI. VirtualAP handles everything with the tap of a button :)

VirtualAP v1.8.0 has been released!

For those who don't know what VirtualAP is, it allows you to convert your mobile device into a fully functional Wi-Fi router by creating a bridge with an OpenWRT Droidspaces container.

Since Droidspaces containers have no virtualization overhead, your VirtualAP hotspot will achieve the maximum throughput of your Wi-Fi hardware, potentially even better than what Android provides.

This is the first time such an integration exists in the world. People have tried to do this in the past with the help of QEMU, but we both know QEMU TCG performance is poor, isn't it?

MaterialGram installed using Flatpak inside a Droidspaces container, and I just sent you this message from the Droidspaces container itself! 😄

We've introduced a new feature that allows you to run sandboxes like Flatpak and Docker unprivileged containers with a single toggle!

Previously, Flatpak and unprivileged containers didn't even work properly, even if you enabled full privileged mode!

But now, everything has been fixed. No need to enable privileged mode either :)

1. Enable the "Allow Sandboxing" feature.
2. Start the container.
3. Sandboxing works out of the box, just like it would on a real Linux PC! 🥳
