«Some warming centers serve as full-fledged community hubs. The civil society group Soloma Cats (so called because it is based in Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district) has established several facilities known as “Greenhouses” that feature lecture programs, book swaps and movie screenings in addition to charging and warming services. During the World Cup, residents packed the centers to watch soccer matches. The group plans to establish 10 Greenhouses citywide», says the group’s executive director, Andriy Yerofeev.
