I Want to be A King (2) • Directed by Mehdi Gangi• 2015 • Iran

This documentary examines the life of Abbas Barzegar, a simple and stubborn man who at one point welcomed two German tourists into his humble abode. After receiving compliments from them, he decided to remodel his home, add some facilities, and invite other tourists to visit him. With the help of his family, he hospitably receives German and Brazilian tourists, as well as others. However, his ambitions continue to grow, and he dreams of becoming the Khan of his village and establishing a powerful tribe while taking a new, younger second wife.

This film focuses on mundane details and naturalistic camerawork and brims with subtle humor. Overall, it demonstrates an impressive degree of ambition.
