Where we come from is an eternal question for which answers in Tajikistan have traditionally been sought through history and archaeology. Today, however, genetics is helping us speak about the past with greater precision.

This is exactly what two young Tajik researchers are doing. For a year and a half now, Sherzod Asrori and Mekhroj Rustamov have been studying the genetics of Tajiks.
