Dion Lee eschewed his usual NYFW slot last February in order to take his collection across the globe for a surprise show in Shanghai. Hosted on the 100th floor of the Shanghai Financial Center, Lee built his fall lineup around the idea of a flame. He printed the motif on grungy tie-dye dresses; wove it into skin-baring laces and meshes; and distressed and embossed it on jeans and leather jackets. A more evocative interpretation came on a model in an orange shaggy faux fur coat worn over a matching lace slip—a fireball on the runway.
