NINTAI – 忍耐 – Enduring silence

To wait in silence—
buds begin to swell
on spring branches.

A samurai does not meet hardship with anger. He absorbs it within himself. Nintai is the strength to remain unmoved, even when time itself seems heavy.

SETSUNA – 刹那 – The fleeting moment

ほんの一瞬――
舞い落ちる葉が立ち止まり、
息も止まる。

For just a moment—
a falling leaf pauses,
and breath stands still.

A samurai lives neither in the past nor in the future. He stands in the one moment that contains everything. This is Setsuna, the fleeting moment, held in complete awareness.

FUDOSHIN – 不動心 – An unshakable mind

波は荒れ狂う――
岩は動じず、
月は輝き続ける

Waves rage —
the rock does not move,
the moon continues to shine

A samurai does not struggle against every storm. He himself becomes the place that cannot be shaken. This is Fudoshin, a spirit that stands unmoved.

SEIJYO – 静城 – Silence that stands guard

門閉じて
城は黙して
風を聞く

Gates closed tight—
the castle listens
only to wind.

A samurai guards without noise. Silence is the strongest wall. This is Seijyo, protection without display.

RYUNEN – 流念 – Letting thought drift away

流れ行き
念は水へと
還りけり

Carried away,
even thought returns
to the stream.

A samurai releases lingering thought. What moves on does not look back. This is Ryunen, release through motion.

SETSUSHIN – 雪心 – A heart that melts like snow

降る雪に
刃は向けずに
冬深し

RYUSHIN – 流心 – A heart that flows

剣を置き
水に委ねて

A samurai does not force direction. He moves as the current allows, without resistance. This is Ryushin, a heart that flows without grasping.

ISSHIN – 一心 – From the single heart 

一心に
曇りなき目で
空を見ゆ

One heart, steady gaze,
finds the sky unclouded
by what does not matter.

To act with half the mind is not to act at all. A samurai pours everything—breath, gaze, will—into a single direction. This is Isshin, commitment without fracture.

ENSHIN – 炎心 – Heart of flame

胸奥の
赤き鼓動に
名は要らぬ

In the heart’s red beat,
no name is needed—only
the fire that lives on.

A samurai’s blade is not what burns—it is the heart behind it. Names perish, weapons rust, but will ignites forever. This is Enshin, the fire at the core of existence.

ZEN – 禅 – The quiet mind

無音こそ
すべての声の
宿る処

In perfect silence,
every voice ever spoken
finds its resting place.

NAGI – 凪 – Breathless wind
