Sometimes I wonder about the person who imagined this life before I ever lived it. Would they recognize me across the table? Would they know the things I still love, the things I had to lose, the things I never expected to want? Perhaps I am not who they dreamed of becoming. But I hope they would still pull out the chair and sit beside me.
