Freya was not born in the way mortals were.
She was created from the shadows of stars the darkness between constellations, where light ends and silence begins.
From that came a goddess,She possessed an immense amount of power, yet Freya never had much interest in displaying it. Unlike gods who sought worship, conflict, or glory, Freya preferred observation.

Her calmness became one of her defining traits. Even when the world around her descended into chaos, Freya rarely allowed herself to be consumed by it.

Freya loved those around her deeply. Gods, Mortals, Creatures, Souls that had nowhere else to belong.
Yet being a deity came with a terrible realization.
Everyone she loved was temporary.
She watched mortals grow old.
She watched kingdoms disappear.
She watched people she cared for die, again and again, across different ages. Some returned in other forms. Some did not. But Freya remembered them all.
She could have used her immense power to change countless fates.
But Freya eventually understood that preventing every death would mean denying the natural order she herself had come to understand, So instead, she decided to give the dead something else.
A place to rest.

Freya created a graveyard of her own.
It was unlike any mortal cemetery.
The graveyard existed in a quiet place touched by the same darkness from which Freya had been created. Stars could always be seen above it, even during the brightest day. Every grave belonged to someone Freya had loved or remembered. Some belonged to mortals whose names had long since vanished from history.
Others belonged to beings who had once stood beside her.
Freya tended to every grave herself.

Eventually, Freya began allowing other souls into her graveyard.
Not every soul needed to have been someone she personally knew.
She opened its gates to what she called soft souls with gentle spirits who had nowhere else to go.
The forgotten.
The lonely.
The innocent.
Those who had spent their lives being overlooked.
Freya offered them shelter.
They were not prisoners.
They did not owe her worship.
They simply had a place where they could remain in peace.
Over time, the graveyard became less like a cemetery and more like a quiet sanctuary for the dead.
And Freya became its eternal guardian.
