Many projects focused on long-term growth regularly burn their own tokens – $BNB (Binance), $ETH (EIP-1559), $OKB, $HT – as part of building sustainable tokenomics.
We’re no exception.
So far, we’ve burned over 400,000,000 $DESU, which is roughly $4.8M at current value.
So what’s the point?
Token burning is simply the permanent removal of tokens from circulation – they’re sent to a wallet no one can access, meaning they’re gone for good.
In practice, burns serve a few key purposes:
Reducing supply – fewer tokens in circulation can support price if demand holds
Managing inflation – especially in ecosystems with ongoing emissions
Strengthening tokenomics – preventing uncontrolled supply growth over time
At the same time, it’s important to understand:
burns aren’t magic. Without real demand, they don’t create value on their own.
For us, this is part of a longer-term approach – gradually improving tokenomics while we continue building and expanding the ecosystem.
