Interview with Founder @Scaleton for Front TON

— What were some of the challenges in creating the DEX exchange?

— There were difficulties and they were all related to the benefits of TON.

In TON - contracts interact via messaging.

In Ethereum - we can interact with other contracts and get an immediate response.

TON and Ethereum can be compared to email and messenger.

Messenger (Ethereum) is convenient when an issue needs to be solved here and now with a small number of people, because when there are a lot of them - it becomes difficult.

Using email (TON) we write a message without expecting an instant response, so after sending we switch to other important tasks.

This approach opens up opportunities, but also imposes limitations, just like any other approach in software development. You have to implement many things from scratch, being a pioneer, this applies to any field.

— How does DEX exchange work and why can people not be afraid to connect their wallet to it?

— DEX differs from CEX (centralized exchanges) in the same way that custodial wallet (CryptoBot) differs from non-custodial (Tonhub, TON Wallet, Tonkeeper). That is, you own your own cryptocurrency.

— What could be the problems for the projects that will be hosted by you?

— Now we are actively working on introducing the possibility of freezing liquidity. This is an important point, because it will protect against Rug Pull.

Rug pull is when coin founders (who are crooks at that) withdraw all liquidity, after which their coins stop being worth anything at all.

The liquidity freeze must cause problems for these people.

Projects that are placed on Scaleton will have only one task: to ensure that there are enough coins in the liquidity pool.

— Okay, but could there be liquidity problems on the DEX exchange in TON?

— There can be liquidity problems, it doesn't depend on the blockchain. The responsibility lies solely with the project behind the particular coin.

— How much liquidity is needed so there isn't a big price impact?

— Price Impact depends on two things: the amount of transaction and the size of the pool.

If the pool contains 1000 TON, then a deal of 1 TON will have a minimal impact on the exchange rate. If a deal of 1000 TON is in the pool, it may change the rate by 50%. At the same time, if there were 100,000 TON in the pool, the price change in a deal of 1,000 TON would be slightly more than 1%. So you need to understand that everything depends not only on the amount of liquidity in the pool, but also on the size of the transaction.

— Will you make your NFT-marketplace directly in DEX?

— We're not thinking about it yet. Scaleton was originally supposed to be just an NFT-marketplace. There was even a working application, but after changing the view of the situation, it was decided to switch to another sought-after niche - tokens.

— What features are you planning to add?

— In the near future we will add the ability to work with liquidity pools, that is, deposits, creating pools, calculating the level of income, and so on. It is already implemented in the contract, but there is no user interface yet.

— Why do not tell much about your project?

— It is better to fully implement it and fix all the bugs. After that, when you have something to show, you can and spread :)

— What can you say about the utility (usefulness) of your jettons?

— There are a lot of ideas, it is too early to say something concrete.

- When did they make it possible to browse Jettons, for example the same $TGR?

— The first version was finished on April 20th. On April 21st I posted it to the public and announced the tool in the group for TON developers. Many are working on tokens, with no tools to work with them. Well, on April 22nd I wrote about it in the project's channel. If we talk about Tegro token (TGR), everything works without problems with it too.
