TON launches new level 2 with Polygon

TON + EVM = TAC

tldr: We at TOP.co backed a team called TON Applications Chain (TAC). TAC is building TON L2 based on EVM by Polygon.

I remember when we met with Pavel in Dubai. One of the very first thoughts I had was like “We should definitely work on something together in the future, he has lot’s of expertise and is really smart”.

And I know it will be a pleasure to work with him side by side on enabling thousands of EVM developers to build inside TON ecosystem.

Ton surpasses Ethereum in active addresses

💎 Recent statistics show that TON has surpassed Ethereum in the number of active addresses. However, these figures exclude Ethereum's L2 solutions, which host most of its activity.

🌐 For instance, on June 11, Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism recorded 1.3 million active addresses.

Therefore, while TON has outpaced Ethereum in active addresses, a significant portion of Ethereum's activity has shifted to its L2 solutions.

Deflation mechanism activated

🔥 As expected, TON network validators voted to burn 50% of network fees.

As a result of voting, 76.3% of the votes were in favor of burning. How long it will last is unknown.

✅ Inflation should come down and this will most likely be good for the ecosystem in the long run.
