.t.me domain zone added to TON DNS root smart contract

❗️ The validators voted on the TON Foundation's proposal to add .t.me to the TON DNS root smart contract. The initiative was accepted, and the changes are already in effect.

Now users can link their TON-purse to a .t.me nickname, and it is now possible to send TON by short Telegram name.

⚙️ Developers can bind the addresses of smart contracts to Telegram usernames, such as decentralized TON sites.

Usernames can be stored in a TON wallet, sent, sold and auctioned. Ownership of the .t.me name will be permanently secured in the TON blockchain.

What is known about the Telegram Names Auction

❕ Very soon Telegram will launch Telegram Auction Platform, a platform deployed on the TON blockchain, where users will be able to buy and sell short names in the messenger.

⚡️ Some details about the auction have emerged:

— There is no need to renew the domains;
— The mechanism of the platform is similar to that of TON DNS: bidding starts after the user makes the first bid, each auction is limited in time;
— All nicknames are NFT on the TON blockchain;
— Nicknames can be stored in cryptocurrency wallets like Uniton.app, which is also available as a browser extension. Among other things, nicknames will be available for sale on NFT marketplaces and on the official Telegram site.

As far as we can tell, Telegram nicknames will launch very soon. It makes sense to ask validators to vote to include the t.me-zone in the root-dns-smart-contract.

If you want, you can allow the wallet to enter domains not only ending in .ton, but in t.me as well. Otherwise, the resolving process is identical — through the root contract.

We are happy to announce that the token bridge is in the final stage of testing

With this bridge, users can transfer any ERC-20 or BEP-20 tokens (e.g. USDC or USDT) originally created on Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain to the TON blockchain, with an option to bring them back.

Transferable tokens will be presented to TON as regular Jetton so that TON services such as DEX can work with them without any additional modifications.

The Open Network in Dubai

According to some reports, there may be a big event for the TON community in Dubai in the first and second quarter of next year.

TON NFT integration in Telegram | TON investigation

Everyone was interested by Durov's post that there will be a TON-based marketplace in Telegram. There was no more information about it, but we decided to investigate and this is what we found out:

🔎 4 weeks ago, the TON Foundation transfers 10,000 TON to an unknown address. That address then moves 1 TON to the royalty address of the «Telegram usernames» NFT collection.

Opening the page on Getgems, we see that the collection contains only idle NFTs, but named in the format suggested by Pavel Durov — username.t.me.

❕ The first NFT in the collection is named «testasmico.t.me», while there is a chat with the same word in the username, whose owner is an official Telegram account.

We do not claim that the release will happen soon - all these facts may be coincidences. But coincidences are nice, we hope there will be more details about TON NFT in Telegram soon.
