Today we released Meme Pairing on HoodPump.
Until now, launches would typically pair against WETH.
Now creators can choose a different token to pair their launch against — opening up a completely different dynamic.
## WETH Pairing
With a traditional WETH pair:
NEW TOKEN ↔ WETH
When someone buys the new token, they are buying it with WETH.
The liquidity pool is built around the relationship between the new token and ETH.
It's simple, familiar, and works but the value created by the new launch is primarily contained within that individual token/WETH market.
## HoodPump Meme Pairing
With meme pairing:
NEW TOKEN ↔ HOOD
Now the new project is directly connected to the HoodPump ecosystem.
When traders buy the new token using HOOD, they're interacting with a pool where both assets are part of the same market.
That creates a different flywheel:
