Melissa Kush says homeopathy's concept of the "vital force" is what leading scientists are increasingly describing through quantum physics, an energetic blueprint present from the moment of conception, when the zinc spark occurs at fertilization.
Kush walks through a sprained ankle as an example. Swelling, redness, and soreness are the body directing healing resources to the injury and preventing further movement on it. She says conventional treatment, steroids and anti-inflammatories, interferes with that response rather than addressing the underlying cause, comparing it to disabling a fire alarm while the fire keeps burning. She says the same pattern applies to suppressing a fever.
Under laboratory conditions, Kush says tissue exposed to Arnica montana at homeopathic dilution showed enhanced macrophage activity and healing properties compared to tissue given no treatment. She says supportive research is sometimes retracted years after publication, and that many of the doctors writing about homeopathy also use it in their own practice.
She points to one example: a retracted European Journal of Pediatrics study that found children given homeopathic treatment during their first 24 months had less illness, needed fewer antibiotics, and ended up taller compared to children given standard care.
