Just over 50 people signed the Declaration of Independence. They put their names on that document and said this is who I am, you know where I live, come and try to take freedom from me. That's what they were saying to everyone who knew them. They would rather die standing than live on their knees.
We are celebrating 250 years of that decision this year, and I think one of the most important things to stand for is this: if you don't control your body, if you don't decide what goes into it, you have no freedom at all.
Every history book ever written is full of people who faced insurmountable odds, defied all reason, and won anyway. We have to be the generation that writes the next pages.
