RACHEL, NEVADA

On February 15, 1978, the town of Sand Springs, Nevada was renamed “Rachel.”

This was in honor
of the first baby
born in the valley,
Rachel Jones.
She was born in 1978…but passed away in 1980.
Hmm.

To remember her, the people of Rachel created a cemetery and a memorial park.

Rachel Jones herself was not buried there.
