🪙 The owner of a rare physical Casascius coin with a denomination of 25 BTC uncovered the protective hologram and for the first time in 12 years transferred the bitcoins to a new wallet. When the coin was released in the early 2010s, the 25 BTC stored on it were worth less than $100, and today — around $1,800,000.

The most interesting thing is that along with gaining access to the bitcoins, the coin lost its collector's value — after the hologram was removed, it is no longer considered an "untouched" artifact, for which collectors are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars over and above the BTC value.

🧬 What is Casascius?»

🪒 The hyped LAB token crashed by approximately 77% in a couple of hours — from a peak of around $24 to $5.7, losing almost $6.8 billion in capitalization.

Later, the asset partially recovered, but such a collapse immediately after an all-time high clearly shows how dangerous overheated and illiquid altcoins are.

🎲 Polymarket is accused of scamming due to a controversial bet on Strategy's BTC sale — the market gathered about $118 million in volume, but the outcome was counted as "No".

Some users consider the sale to have actually occurred before May 31, but Polymarket decided otherwise and explained the rules in its favor only after trading.

Because of this, participants could have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, while the platform itself earned from commissions.
