🪙 Billionaire Chamath Palihapitiya believes that BTC currently has two major problems — free money is going into stocks and prediction markets, and it's more profitable to direct electricity to AI than to mining.
Previously, Chamath was one of the most ardent Bitcoin bulls — as early as 2013, he called BTC his "best bet," advised holding about 1% of capital in it, and later predicted growth first to $200,000, then above $1 million.
In 2023, he sharply stated that "crypto is dead in the US" due to regulatory pressure, but he did not completely abandon the long-term idea of Bitcoin as "digital gold."
