Where were you when Yemen was being bombed?
In this video, I discuss the humanitarian catastrophe Yemen has endured, the renewed escalation involving Saudi Arabia, and what I believe are serious double standards in the way civilian suffering is discussed across the Middle East.
I make my position clear: I do not want civilians killed in Saudi Arabia or Yemen. But I believe we must also confront the history of this conflict, the humanitarian consequences of the Saudi-led intervention, and the responsibility of political leaders.
I also discuss Gaza, Muslim solidarity, regional alliances and the question of why some governments face far less scrutiny than others.
My argument is that humanity must be consistent. We cannot demand justice for one population while ignoring the suffering of another.
