🇺🇸⚔️🇮🇷 USS Abraham Lincoln limps home after 10 months off Iran
The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has arrived in San Diego after more than 10 months away, one of the longest US carrier deployments since the Vietnam War. Its aircraft were among the first to strike Iran on 28 February.
➡️The crew spent more than 260 consecutive days at sea without a port call.
➡️Eight service members in the strike group attempted suicide, the acting Navy secretary told Congress.
➡️After Iran destroyed the main US supply base in Bahrain, sailors went without fresh food, hygiene products and mail.
Defense Secretary Pete Kegsbreath, who extended the deployment twice, blamed the media for portraying the ship as a symbol of dysfunction.
