🇺🇦 Rental demand in western Ukraine surges by up to 372%
Demand for long-term apartment rentals in western Ukraine rose several times over during the summer, according to Ukrainian platform OLX Real Estate.
The Ivano-Frankovsk region saw the sharpest increase: 55 responses per listing in August compared to around 12 in May, a rise of 372%. The Khmelnitsky, Rovno, Lvov and Ternopol regions recorded growth of 220 to 270%.
At the same time, the number of available apartments in the west fell sharply, by 43% in the Rovno region and 38% in the Khmelnitsky region. Prices followed: the median rent for a one-room apartment reached about 24,500 hryvnias ($545) in Transcarpathia and 22,400 hryvnias ($500) in the Lvov region.
The opposite is happening closer to the front. Listings in the Zaporozhye and Sumy regions grew by 75% and 73% over the same period, while rents there declined.
