➡️He argues that yes, surveillance has huge risks — “but you’ll have far fewer rights if America’s not in the lead.”
➡️ He gives a pretty stark choice: either we lean into a heavily surveilled, AI-dominated US state, or we let China set the rules — with different values.
➡️He frames surveillance downsides as: "you might lose the right to go have a hot dog with a coworker you’re flirting with while being married” (his phrase) — which he calls a “god-given right”.
➡️For him, this isn’t about business — it’s a geopolitical/cultural argument about dominance, identity and surveillance.
➡️On the AI-bubble:
...when asked by Axios’s Mike Allen, “What the hell is Palantir?” Karp answered, “We are growing the GDP of the US. We are the part of the GDP… of the AI economy where things are useful.”
