Former Award Winning School Teacher Exposes the "Dumbing Down of America"

In Chapter 1 of The Pyramid Of Power, John Taylor Gatto, a former award winning New York City school teacher and author of Dumbing Us Down: the Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling, outlines the dangers inherent in public schools.

Gatto says the modern school system presents an incoherent ensemble of information that the child needs to memorize to stay in school rather than teaching critical thinking. Gatto also claimed public schools make children emotionally and intellectually dependent.
