很久很久以前，真的，真的很久以前。那时，所有的羊还都是羔羊，所有的湖泊也还只是小小的水洼。然而，平坦的大地上已然耸立起的连绵山峰，群山为众生指出了奔向天际的道路。宏壮旖丽的鹰展翅翱翔，一口气就能飞到山顶，去追寻智慧。星辰与大地的轮廓尽收眼底，天地万象在它们眼前流转。于是鹰成为最早洞悉世间奥秘的生灵，成为天地间首批智者。然而它们的躯体无法承受飞行与智慧的双重负担，终究过着短暂而悲伤的一生。每当它们意识到可能无法将所见所闻扬传后世时，泪水便会从眼中涌出。一滴又一滴的泪珠自天际绵长坠落，最终落入大地。当泪珠触及地面时，已化作从天而降的宝珠。

This is yet another story I wrote during my secondary school days (in a boarding school with a military-style regime, it’s hard to find things to have fun with).
The story centres on the theme of ‘我执’ (atma-graha) and is set in a land that frequently receives falling meteors, where endless mountain ranges rise up from the earth. A nomadic tribe that followed the stars, whose scholars climbed the peaks to seek the cosmic truth through the towering mountains. They regarded the eagles, able to soar effortlessly into the skies, as silent sages, and were convinced that the falling meteorites were the eagles’ tears. The tale began as a fable about the pursuit of truth, but later, the people of the mountains and those of the lowlands formed distinct religions and political systems, and war, exploitation, revolution, and the end of all things arrived upon this land.
I truly hope that one day I will have the opportunity to illustrate this series of stories as a comic, or in some other form.
