An original character I wrote during my high school years
1. This creature was inspired by the lantern jellyfish, and its mechanism is as follows: when it ages and dies, or when environmental conditions deteriorate, it enters a state of dormancy, waiting until suitable conditions return before redeveloping in its larval form; it is capable of highly precise convergent evolution, mimicking the organisms in its environment.
2. Over the hundreds of millions of years of its existence, this creature has evolved into a sentient being on more than one occasion. Each time it develops a body capable of harbouring consciousness, the ‘most primordial consciousness’ returns to negotiate and merge with the newly born consciousness. However, an agreement is not always reached.
3. In the following text, the ‘most primordial consciousness’ will be denoted by a capital ‘M’, whilst the ‘most recently born consciousness’ will be named Manusha.
4. Over the years, M has, depending on the cultural environment of its current body, fabricated a convincing persona to persuade the new consciousness to transfer control of the body to it; for instance, it has sometimes implied that it is the incarnation of some sublime being.
5. Manusha is the result of this organism’s convergent evolution, with an appearance and physiology similar to that of Homo sapiens; it is registered as a resident and is non-religious.
6. Manusha works on a submarine in the deep sea.
7. M’s mind may not be mature; it doesn’t exhibit the characteristics one would expect from a species that has survived for hundreds of millions of years. It has even fashioned a crown for itself in the Shape of the maxilla in Dunkleosteus and takes pride in the fact that it has lived longer than the Dunkleosteus.
8. I’m at a loss for words; this is a passage I wrote earlier:自从你获得了一具能够孕育思绪的躯体，你就沉醉于思考的极乐之中，并致力于挥舞那柄智慧的权杖。然而，时局不允许你沉溺于永恒的沉思，每当你冲出去试图夺回权杖时，那具空荡的躯体早已重生出意识。所幸，他们将你的归来视为降神，赐予你“亘古的变幻之神”的称号。但这次情况有所不同。新生意识几乎毫无与你融合的意愿……
9. I’m still mulling over the plot at the moment, but I’m sure there won’t be much to it—at most, a person constantly asking and answering their own questions, talking to themselves and battling hallucinations.
