I've released g1455 ("glass", spelled in digits), a Flutter package that brings Liquid Glass to your apps: refraction, blur, tint and a rim over the live backdrop, in the superellipse shape the engine already draws.
Most glass implementations put a BackdropFilter on every surface, so the engine re-reads the backdrop once per surface on every frame. g1455 does it differently:
🔹 One host, one capture. Everything under the glass goes into a single atlas, and each surface samples its own slot.
🔹 Capture only on change. On a still screen, or with glass moving over static content, the previous capture is reused.
🔹 The blur is a downscale. A 1/N proxy is a Gaussian with σ ≈ N/2, at a fraction of the cost.
On a Galaxy S25 Ultra (Adreno 830) it runs at ×0.99–1.08 the GPU cost of stock Material. BackdropFilter.grouped runs at ×1.78–3.15. Every number comes from a profile build on a named device, and the raw data is in the repo.
What's in the box: GlassSurface, GlassGroup (blobs that fuse together), ripples, and ready-made components: tab bar, segmented control, switch, slider, menu, alert, button groups.
✅ iOS, macOS, Android (Impeller Metal/Vulkan/GLES, Skia), Web (Skwasm, CanvasKit)
✅ MIT licensed
✅ Comes with an agent skill, so your AI assistant can write glass code correctly
