in hardware and paint stores people spray a bit from the can before buying it, just to see the color and how it comes out

some of those spots got covered in names, tags and layers of paint over the years. the floor around the shelf turned into graffiti nobody planned

now more stores keep the cans locked in cases, so these spots are getting rare
