🇪🇺 USDC Receives MiCA Recognition

The EBA has designated Circle’s USDC a significant e-money token under MiCA, making it the first stablecoin in the EU to receive this status.

Starting 12 November 2026, the EBA and France’s ACPR will supervise USDC jointly. The EBA will oversee its capital, reserves, liquidity and redemption plans.

Meanwhile, the ECB is exploring a digital euro, potentially launching in 2029 after legislation is passed and a pilot is completed.
