Neural networks may soon move beyond servers and into our homes, running on everything from TVs to fridges and ovens. Researchers at Anthropic say this could happen within months.

Small models might copy themselves onto internet-connected devices with weak security, then use their processing power instead of relying on data centers.

The biggest concern is a decentralized network of self-replicating models. Shutting it down could be extremely difficult if copies spread independently.
