US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner told Ukrainian officials on Friday that a deal to allow Russian diesel exports is part of efforts ​to draw Russia back to negotiations, three people familiar with the meeting told Reuters.

The two people briefed ⁠and the person present at the meeting also denied to Reuters previous reports that the Americans threatened to cut off intelligence sharing with Kyiv if Ukraine did not agree to stop striking ​Russian refineries.
