Footage over Kyiv shows a Russian Iskander-M ballistic missile spiraling downward in a corkscrew descent.

More specifically, it appears to be a 9M723 missile, likely the 9M723F3 variant with a penetrating warhead.

The likely cause of the unusual descent is damage to, or failure of, one of the missile’s aerodynamic control actuators, causing it to lose stability and spiral downward.
